About Office Technique

Office Technique was originally incorporated in 1985 as a Private Limited Company for the purpose of providing information technology products and services to the Botswana government and corporate institutions.
In those years, Office Technique focused its energy on the newly launched IBM personal computer, related printers, DOS software and technical support services. Office Technique grew in reputation and stature – growth which resulted in the Datatec Limited Group (listed on the JSE in South Africa), purchasing a 51% stake in Office Technique from Martex Botswana (owned by the Barlow Group of Companies), in July 1997.

During the same year, Office Technique was awarded the first Micro Maintenance Information Technologies Support and Maintenance Contract by the Government of Botswana. During the following two years Datatec purchased the remaining 49% of Office Technique from Martex.
In 2000, e-Africa Holdings Limited, an unlisted Public Registered Botswana Company purchased the entire shareholding of Office Technique from Datatec Holdings – Office Technique becoming a 100% Botswana-owned entity.

In 2002, Office Technique’s five-year National Government IT Services Contract became due for renewal. A new tender structure was formulated such that the future provision of services would be shared between three companies. Consequently Office Technique was awarded one third of the database of equipment employed in the government.

Office Technique now has 36 highly trained mobile technicians and has commenced its 15th year of technical services dedicated solely to the Government of Botswana.
